WOODCLIFF LAKE—At a brief special meeting held on Sept. 25, the Borough Council formally requested a reduction of the speed limit along County Road 90 (Woodcliff Avenue) from 35 mph to 25 mph. The proposed change, intended to enhance public safety, would apply to the stretch between Pascack Road and Rose Avenue.

In addition to the speed limit request, the council approved a $67,850 contract with DMR Architects of Hasbrouck Heights to prepare a fourth round Housing Element and Fair Share Plan. The plan is required by the state and follows the anticipated release of new affordable housing obligation numbers in late October.

Councilors also agreed to re-advertise bids for the Werimus Lane pumping station flood-resilient design.

A resolution regarding a right-of-entry agreement with Veolia Water New Jersey for a Sept. 28 shoreline cleanup event at the Woodcliff Lake Reservoir was tabled, leaving the status of the cleanup uncertain.
