Art School at Old Church presents summer ceramic exhibitions

DEMAREST, N.J. — The Art School at Old Church will present two summer ceramic exhibitions, In Hand III and The Figure: Interpretations in Clay, from June 11 through July 24.

An opening reception for both exhibitions will be held Thursday, June 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Art School at Old Church, 561 Piermont Road. Light refreshments will be served.

In Hand III, on view in the Mikhail Zakin Gallery, is an annual nationwide cup show juried by ceramic artist Alison Palmer and curated by Eileen Sackman. The exhibition features more than 80 works by ceramicists exploring interpretations of the drinking vessel.

The Figure: Interpretations in Clay, presented in the Café Gallery, features expressive sculptures by students in Kathy Eisler’s Modern Figure in Ceramic Sculpture course, inspired by artists including Henry Moore, Matisse and Modigliani.

Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, visit tasoc.org or call (201) 767-7160.
