Bergen Dance Makers to showcase works

BergenDanceMakers—a collective of local choreographers, including nationally recognized artists who have come together to show work locally—presents “Still / Moving” in conjunction with Hackensack Performing Arts Center.

The shows run on Saturday May 19 and Sunday, May 20, both at 7:30 p.m.

Committed to supporting the creative process of each individual artist, this concert features dance works ranging from comedic to dramatic, classical to contemporary. The dance works are created by choreographers who have danced with Pilobolus, Nikolais, Nancy Meehan, Anna Sokolow and Ballet Russe Dance Companies and include a Guggenheim Fellow and several New Jersey State Council on the Arts fellows.

Choreographers include Nai-Ni Chen (Englewood Cliffs), Susan Cherniak (Teaneck), Theresa Conlon (Lyndhurst), Olivia Galgano (Paramus), Kent Lindemer (Midland Park), Nikki Manx (Mahwah), Tina Zoccoli Mayers (Franklin Lakes), Lynn Needle (Ridgewood), Claire Porter (Teaneck), Odelia Shargian (Tenafly), Christopher Shepard & Erin Cairns Cella (Lyndhurst), Susan Thomasson (Demarest), with guests Dana Crowe (Montclair), Joe Monteleone (Hazlet) and Jessica Ruhlin (NYC).
