ENGLEWOOD — Bergen Family Center is proud to announce several new programs at the SESCIL Senior Center, at 228 Grand Ave. The Southeast Senior Center for Independent Living (SESCIL) is dedicated to supporting self-sufficiency and independent living through a wide range of activities designed to restore, improve, and maintain the physical, emotional, and social health of its members.

Founded in 1978 by 11 municipalities in Bergen County, SESCIL offers a variety of classes and support groups aimed at enhancing the quality of life for seniors. These include Aerobics, Yoga, Tai Chi, and foreign language courses. Seniors can also participate in programs such as the SESCIL Singers, therapeutic services, and educational programs on entitlement resources like Medicare and Social Security.

SESCIL became part of the Bergen Family Center (BFC) in 2019 and continues to offer a welcoming community for seniors 55 and older. The center’s dedicated staff of community professionals work hard to ensure the well-being of members, providing assistance with various government programs and helping seniors remain independent.
