Borough Man, 22, Charged in Killing in Jersey City

WESTWOOD, N.J.—A local man was one of three people charged Sept. 11 in a July killing in Jersey City.

Corey Walker, 22, of Westwood, was arrested at approximately 2:45 p.m. in Jersey City, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.

Officials said Tyshawn Kitchens, 19, of Irvington and Rashad Terry, 30, of Jersey City also were charged in the July 23 shooting death of Markell Albright, 21.

The victim was found on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds near 125 and 127 Wilkinson Ave. 

Published reports said he was taken to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead—approximately 30 minutes after the initial report of shots  fired.

The three men were charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Kitchens further was charged on weapon possession. They were set for a detention hearing at press time.

Records show that Walker was charged in a 2016 robbery of a Newark gas station.
