Car Show Rolls Into Town as Borough Prepares to Mark 125th Anniversary

The Park Ridge Recreation Committee Car Show Saturday, May 4 overcame weather issues and provided a fun day of cool cars for local residents.

Park Ridge’s Eighth Annual Car Show roared into town May 4.

The annual event helped let the good times roll in the borough, taking on special meaning as an unofficial kickoff to Park Ridge’s 125th anniversary of incorporation.

Recreation Director Liz Falkenstern told Pascack Press that the borough is planning many fun community events, culminating in a gala on May 15, 2020, at the Park Ridge Marriott, which will be open to the public.

Along the way, many of the events will fundraise to bring the cost of the gala down so that more people can attend.

There’s plenty that’s cool under the hood of this ‘65 Mustang.

Up next: the 2019 Park Ridge Town Picnic is planned for June 8, from 1 to 6 p.m. at Davies Memorial Field behind Borough Hall. There will be great food, drinks, rides, ponies, a petting zoo, dunk tank, live music, face painting, balloons and many surprises, according to the borough’s website. The town picnic will conclude with fireworks and a DJ at the Park Ridge High School field at 8 p.m.

The recreation department’s annual concert series begins Thursday, July 18 with Abe Ovadia (jazz) and continues on Thursdays at 7 p.m. until Aug. 8.

Falkenstern said she expects to announce “many, many more” events all year.
