TOWNSHIP OF WASHINGTON—”As the holiday and winter seasons approach, we are reminded of the strength and compassion that define our Cardinal community. This time of year offers a special opportunity to come together, both to give and to receive support when it is needed most.”
That’s Westwood Regional Superintendent of Schools Dr. Patrick McQueeney, writing the community on Monday with a resource on emergency food aid — both receiving and giving.
“We recognize that some families in our community may be facing challenges in meeting basic needs, and we want to ensure everyone has access to the many resources available in our area. Whether you are able to donate or are seeking support, the following programs can help:

McQueeney said, “If your family is experiencing hardship, please reach out to your child’s school counselor or principal for confidential guidance and support. Our district and community partners are here to help ensure that no one faces this season alone.”
He said, “Likewise, if you are in a position to help, consider donating nonperishable items or gift cards to one of the local food pantries listed above or to one of the food drives being organized through our schools and community organizations. The Westwood Community Outreach is an example of a local donation opportunity that supports families right here in our community. Every act of generosity, large or small, strengthens the fabric of Westwood and reminds us what it means to care for one another.”
