WESTWOOD, N.J.—Families enjoyed fun and games last week while supporting local volunteers who assist their neighbors at their times of greatest need.
The Westwood Volunteer Ambulance Corps Annual Carnival was held Tuesday, July 23 to Saturday, July 27, offering food and a great time at the Westwood Plaza off Broadway.
The ambulance corps uses the traditional summertime event, which also offers rides and excitement for kids and adults, to fundraise in support of its mission to provide emergency medical service to the residents of the borough and nearby towns.
“Every year members of the corps and their families participate in corps events, including our annual barbecue, installation dinner, and holiday brunch,” WVAC says online. “The corps also works together to run the annual WVAC Carnival and other fundraising events.”
The Westwood Volunteer Ambulance Corps not only does a great service for the Pascack Valley through its emergency services, it also is a fun organization to be a part of—and it’s always looking for volunteers.
To be eligible to volunteer, an applicant must be a person of good character who is over 16 and lives or works in Westwood or within three miles of the corps building. Visit westwoodvolunteerems.org.
