Back in Time

Kristin Beuscher, columnist and president of the Pascack Historical Society, takes readers on a journey back in time through the Pascack Valley and Northern Valley’s rich history. The Woodcliff schoolhouse opened 130 years ago this week, on Sept. 9, 1895. The borough had broken off from Washington Township just a year earlier. Designed by an architect who also became the first mayor, the building was constructed with stones gathered from the surrounding fields of the farming community.
