“On Tuesday, April 23, 2019, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received a report from the Division of Child Protection and Permanency that Cesar Fallas-Urena sexually assaulted a child under the age of 13 on more than one occasion,” said Calo.
“The result of the investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Washington Township Police Department, [Fallas-Urena] was arrested on April 26, 2019 in Paramus…”
Fallas-Urena is also charged with sexual assault by sexual contact (a second degree crime), manufacturing child pornography (a second degree crime), and endangering the welfare of a child (a second degree crime), Calo said.
“At his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack on April 27, 2019, [Fallas-Urena] was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a 2 of 2 detention hearing,” Calo said in a statement.
“Acting Prosecutor Calo states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would also like to thank the Washington Township Police Department for its assistance in this investigation,” the BCPO said.
