WESTWOOD, N.J.—The Westwood Community Band will play its final Friday night concert of the summer on July 26 at 8 p.m. at the Bandstand in Veterans Memorial Park.
This concert features the 30- piece Concert Band playing a variety of light classics, showtunes, big band music, marches, and patriotic selections.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket. In the event of rain, the concert moves indoors at the Westwood Community Center, 55 Jefferson Ave.
The Community Band is a group of approximately 40 adult volunteer musicians of varying ages and experiences.
We are currently looking for an additional drummer who can play both concert band and jazz band (big band) music on their own drum set. Good sight reading skills are essential as the band performs different music each week.
We are also looking for additional clarinet, saxophone, French horn, trombone, and tuba players. This is a great opportunity for musicians to continue playing after high school or college, or to dust off their instruments after a few years of inactivity.
