WESTWOOD, N.J. — Aidan James Beahm, a Westwood resident and Pascack Valley High School graduate remembered for his humor, intelligence and kindness, died unexpectedly July 21. He was 29.
According to his family, Beahm had a gift for making people feel comfortable being themselves. They remembered his sharp wit, quick humor, kind heart and deep curiosity about the world around him.
Beahm was a member of the National Honor Society and National Society of High School Scholars at Pascack Valley High School. He later attended Fordham University and graduated from Ramapo College.
His professional life followed several paths. He worked with autistic children, a role his family said he loved, before becoming a paralegal. He hoped to continue his education by attending law school.
“No matter the road, Aidan made it his mission to help those he came across along the way,” his family said. “Whether personally or professionally, to know Aidan was to love Aidan.”
He is survived by his parents, Michael and Karalyn Beahm; his sister, Lily Beahm; his brother, Philip Beahm; and extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 29, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton.
A funeral service will be held there Thursday, July 30, at 11 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Frankford Plains Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
