To the editor:
I enthusiastically endorse the re-election of Tim Lane, and the election of Chris Roche, to the Montvale Borough Council.
I have served alongside Tim for nearly eight years as an elected councilperson, so I speak from direct experience. His background in finance has benefitted the Borough of Montvale tactically with accurate reporting, and strategically through sound advice—a rudder piloting our town through difficult state and county ordinances.
Chris has been an active member of the Republican Club, and is a valued and respected voice in that body. He is a Bergen County business owner, creating and maintaining jobs for years, and will bring that valuable perspective to the council.
This council has developed a reputation for teamwork over the years, in contrast to reports of dissension in other municipalities. I believe the reason for this reputation is the council’s consistent, steady, unflinching focus on what is best for the citizens of Montvale, not on our individual, personal preferences.
Maintaining this focus is not easy, nor is it the result of what is popular at the time. It requires communication, respect for one another, and objectivity.
Tim Lane and Chris Roche are the best choices this November to continue the Montvale Council’s reputation.
