COMMUNITY VOICES: Progress with Arroyo, Dell, Bicocchi

To the editor:

I’ve been a longtime resident of Westwood and was employed by our local post office for over 31 years. When I met and married my wife, Stefanie, we chose this town to start our family and raise our children.

I’ve spent countless years volunteering in our towns  youth sports programs as a coach,  and I have sat on the board of both football and baseball. During my 30- plus years of residing in town I’ve watched Westwood rise up to become a premier community. It’s a place where one can shop, bank, dine, enjoy the use of our recreational facilities and community center, even catch a free concert at the gazebo in one of our great parks. It’s a community where our seniors are respected and included, one where everyone is safe. It’s a community that has avoided the kind of overdevelopment we see up and down the road from here. It’s a community that invests in its schools, facilities, equipment, parks, police department, and rec fields.

Westwood’s success is attributed to having the right people with the right experience in place making the right decisions. Our elected officials have delivered the progress that makes Westwood the hub and envy of the Pascack Valley.

This has nothing to do with their political affiliation but moreso with their experience, knowledge, and commitment to volunteerism. The right people have been serving us for years, and the self-evident fruit of their hard work and efforts has earned them our trust and support.

My wife, Stefanie, and I fully support and endorse Ray Arroyo for mayor, and the re-election of Beth Dell and Rob Bicocchi for Borough Council. We hope you will join us on voting to elect and re-elect these officials and help keep Westwood on the same path they have guided us for years past.

National and state politics produce a lot of noise but in Westwood all we ever hear and see is progress. That’s because Ray, Beth, and Rob have made sure we haven’t lost our way in the noise. On Nov. 5 a vote for Arroyo, Dell, and Bicocchi is a vote for Westwood’s continued success.
