WESTWOOD—The mayor and council will meet Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Borough Hall, 101 Washington Ave. The public session begins at 7:30 p.m., following a 7 p.m. closed session.
During the closed portion, the governing body is scheduled to discuss several personnel and legal matters, including Construction Department and Department of Public Works personnel issues (for which Rice notices were issued), a health-care back-deduction policy, an update on a potential property acquisition involving the Volz tract, and an ABC regulatory update with the borough attorney.
When the meeting reopens to the public, highlights will include a proclamation honoring Rick Woods for 45 years of service to the borough and commendations for six Westwood Police Department officers — Sgt. Two ordinances are set for introduction:
- Establishing Chapter 107, Bicycles, Skateboards, Scooters, and Micromobility Vehicles, to regulate safe use on borough streets;
- Amending the land use code to clarify procedures for minor modifications to approved development plans.
Resolutions on the consent agenda include measures to:

- Establish a Health Savings Account–eligible high-deductible health plan for new employees;
- Recognize National First Responders Day;
- Extend the property-tax grace period for eligible federal employees and contractors affected by the government shutdown; and
