PASCACK VALLEY—Mark your calendars for Friday, June 10 through Sunday, June 12 and join an all-ages, family-friendly, fun-filled weekend of arts and culture with Creative Bergen’s Second Annual Arts Amble. Inspired by art crawls around the country, Arts Amble is a three-day countywide event, taking place in municipalities across Bergen County — with more than 200 artists.
Last year’s inaugural event featured 150 artists across 17 municipalities showcasing their unique talents in visual and performing arts, in small and large spaces. This year’s event promises to be bigger, with more artists and municipalities signing on to create diverse experiences throughout the county.
This year’s Arts Amble locations include Allendale, Cliffside Park, Closter, Englewood, Fair Lawn, Glen Rock, Hackensack, Hillsdale, Mahwah, Maywood, New Milford, Oakland, Oradell, Ramsey, Ridgefield Park, Ridgewood, River Edge, Rochelle Park, Rutherford, Westwood, and Wyckoff.
The public can explore artwork in a variety of locations, from artists’ front lawns to local galleries, studios, municipal buildings, and arts festivals to take in all Bergen County has to offer. Artists of a variety of mediums are participating in this event, showing paintings, photography, sculpture, stained glass, woodwork, metal work, dance, theater, live book readings, musicians, singers, and more.
The Arts Amble is a free event in nearly all venues, and open to the public. Standard hours are Friday 5–8 p.m. and Saturday & Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless otherwise noted. Printed brochures with a list of participants, schedule of events and further information will be available at select locations throughout the county. Updates, event schedules, and downloadable and printable brochures are available on the Arts Amble 2022 website, ArtsAmble.org.
An interactive map will also be available through the website to help “Amblers” easily find artists and create their own route. Artists will be showing, selling, or performing at their respective locations. Brochure listings will note if locations are barrier-free/ADA.
Founded in 2020, Creative Bergen is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that seeks to provide creative placemaking with community art events, profitable opportunities for artists, makers, and performers, along with engagement opportunities for the community and businesses in Bergen County.
