Dear Pascack Valley: Post 162 urges holiday cards, letters to the troops

To the editor:

We request the community, schools, churches, and scouts write letters and cards to our local troops—Hillsdale, River Vale, and one from Woodcliff Lake—to reach them for the holidays. Anyone who has served in the military and been away over the holidays knows how much it means to receive mail from home.

The letters and cards may be addressed to one of the names below, or left blank and placed in drop-off boxes in the River Vale Boro Hall, Hillsdale Boro Hall lobby, post office, or library during regular business hours.

Do not stamp letters. We will bulk mail. Last date for pick-up is Dec. 12.

Local men and women on active duty are, from the U.S. Army, Dillon Heyliger, Jason Missenheim, Aimee Feary, Robert D. Bruce, Andrew Schlussel, and Ryan Wilson; from the U.S. Navy Nicolas Vicchio; from the U.S. Air Force Richard Jansen; and from the U.S. Marine Corps Dylan Riley, Connor Weis, Zack Rogich, Michael McLeod, Paul Yoo, Michael Velthaus, and Lucas Ochoa.

They may not be home for the holidays so bring a bit of  home to them. Write a card or letter.
