The hunt is on! We’ve rounded up local municipal Easter egg-related events so you don’t have to search to find one close to home. We’ve listed them alphabetically by town, so check the date.
- Hillsdale’s Easter Egg Hunt at Beechwood Park runs April 20 from 9 to 10 a.m. Don’t arrive too early! Everyone will wait behind the ropes until the Egg Hunt begins. No parents may pick up eggs on the grounds. Bring your camera! Bring a basket to gather your eggs in! If you have colored plastic eggs at home and want to donate them to the borough, please drop off by April 5. Organizers also will collect eggs after the egg hunt Beechwood Park playground will close at 8 a.m. for set-up and will reopen at 10 for the children to play. In case of rain, this event will be held at George White School on April 20.
- The Emerson Fire Department is holding its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 13 at noon. Arrive early so you don’t miss the fun. The rain date is Sunday, April 14.
- Montvale’s Recreation Department is not hosting an egg event this year but it promises families will love the Spring Fling it’s putting together at Fieldstone Middle School on May 4 from 10 a.m. to noon, and the Day in the Park on tap for Saturday, Sept. 21. (We’ll bring you more information on those events in an upcoming issue.)
- Park Ridge Recreation Committee Celebrates the 125th Anniversary of Park Ridge with its Annual Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 13 at 11:30 a.m. at Davies Memorial Field (behind Borough Hall). Park Ridge children up to 6th grade, bring your baskets/bags for collecting goodies! Parents, bring your camera for photos with Peter Cottontail. Bring non-perishable food items to Davies Field for the Tri-Boro Food Pantry. Rain date is Sunday, April 14. Special thanks to TD Bank and the Park Ridge Education Association for their generous support of this event
- In River Vale, the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign presents its annual Easter Egg Hunt and Breakfast at River Vale Country Club, 660 Rivervale Road, on Saturday, April 13 at 10 a.m. In the event of rain, the hunt moves to Holdrum Middle School’s new gym and the breakfast to Cherry Brook Restaurant at River Vale Country Club. The cost is $15 for adults and $5 for children. Reservations for the breakfast are required. Call (201) 391-2300 ext. 117.
- The Township of Washington Volunteer Fire Department’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt is set for April 20 from 10 a.m. to noon at Memorial Field.
- Westwood Easter egg decorating is April 15. Join the Westwood Recreation Department with art instructor Bernadette Flood in the Westwood Community Center. Traditional food color and vinegar egg dying is fun, but are your kids ready to take their egg decorating to the next level? Come explore new ways to design these springtime favorites that will delight kids and adults alike. A variety of materials will be used. Bring your own hardboiled eggs. Max six per child. Sessions are in half-hour blocks: ages 3–5 at 6 p.m.; grades K–1 at 6:30; grades 2–4 at 7; and grades 5–8 at 7:30. Register now. Only 25 spaces per session. - In Woodcliff Lake, the Parks and Recreation Department has arranged its Annual Easter Egg Hunt for Sunday, April 14 from noon to 1 p.m. The hunt begins at 12:15. The rain date is April 20 at the same time. Bring your camera for a photo with the Easter Bunny, and bring a basket for the eggs! The location is Westervelt-Lydecker Grounds (subject to change) across from the Old Mill Pool and baseball fields.
