Emerson Man Who Didn’t Report Harrington Park Car Crash Had Cocaine

HARRINGTON PARK, N.J.—On April 9, at 3:26 a.m., a 20-year-old male from Emerson was involved in a motor vehicle crash at Schraalenburgh Road and Lafayette Road.

The male operator called a towing company to extract his vehicle from the rear yard of a residence.

The towing company immediately notified the Harrington Park Police Department of the request by the male operator. Officer Mike Getto, upon arrival at the scene, discovered that the male driver was exhibiting signs of being under the influence of drugs.

Upon further investigation, Officer Getto located plastic packages containing what is believed to be cocaine. The operator was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released to a capable adult.

The male operator was charged with the following offenses: possession of a controlled dangerous substance (drugs); driving while under the influence; reckless driving; failure to report a motor vehicle crash; and possession of drugs within a motor vehicle.
