Englewood Man Arrested for Alleged Sex Assault Against Child

PALISADES PARK, N.J.—On Nov. 17, the Palisades Park Police Department advised the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit of an allegation that Malik S. Bell, 26, engaged in sexual conduct with a child under the age of 13 in Palisades Park, said Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella.

As a result of the investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Palisades Park Police Department, Bell was arrested on Nov. 20 in Englewood, Musella said.

Bell is charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault, first degree crimes; one count of attempted aggravated sexual assault, a second degree crime; one count of sexual assault by sexual contact, a second degree crime; and one count of endangering the welfare of  a child, a third degree crime. 

Following a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, on Nov. 20, Bell was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing.
