ENGLEWOOD, N.J.—On Saturday, May 25, 2019, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received a report from the Englewood Police Department that a juvenile had fled the apartment of Garrett Haskins after being sexually assaulted by him, said Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella.

An investigation was initiated by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department, and the Englewood Police Department. As a result of the investigation, Haskins was arrested on Sunday, May 26, in Englewood.

Haskins, 44, of 9 Rock Creek Terrace, Apt. 21, is facing a first degree charge of aggravated sexual assault, a second degree charge of sexual assault, and a third degree charge of endangering the welfare of a child. Musella said he is single and employed as a mechanic.

He was transported to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, New Jersey on Friday, May 31.

Musella said the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
