ENGLEWOOD, N.J.—The Bergenfield-Bogota-Englewood-Teaneck-Hackensack CrimeStoppers Group is offering up to a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to the identification of a suspect who committed an armed robbery in Englewood on Saturday, Sept. 29.

On that day, at approximately 1:15 p.m., a black male wearing a hooded jacket entered the Rita’s Ice store at 4 West Palisade Ave. and stole an undisclosed amount of cash while armed with a knife. There were two clerks, along with the owner, in the store at the time of the robbery. No one was injured, but there was a scuffle with the store owner as the subject escaped from the store. Englewood detectives responded to the scene and removed forensic evidence with the assistance of the Bergen County crime scene unit.

A security camera system in a neighboring store in the small strip mall caught very good images of the suspect as he approached and then later ran from the scene.

“Based on the still photos and videos that we are releasing today, we are hoping that someone will step forward, identify the suspect for us and take advantage of the substantial reward CrimeStoppers is offering,” said Englewood Detective Capt. Timothy Torell.

The public can leave a tip 24/7 on the CrimeStoppers website at bergencrimestoppers.org or call (844) 466-6789. They can also contact Englewood Police detectives directly at (201) 568-4875.
