HILLSDALE, N.J.—It’s last call for Golden Dynasty restaurant in Hillsdale. The local staple, serving Hunan-, Szechuan-, and Cantonese-style food for nearly 30 years, announced it would be open for takeout-only through Sunday, Nov. 1, and close for good on Monday, Nov. 2.
The restaurant and bar, in business since 1991, is a stately landmark at 295 Kinderkamack Road. Zagat had praised it as “pretty” and “upscale,” “the best Chinese restaurant in the Pascack Valley.”
In a note to customers last week, the Golden Dynasty Family wrote, “It has been our pleasure to be part of the community for almost 30 years. So many of you have become our family over the years. We are so grateful to have been able to reopen this past month and stay open for the rest of October.”
They added, “As much as we would love to stay open forever, some owners have wanted to retire since early this year. We have thought long and hard about this decision and believe it’s for the best.”
In a final appeal, the owners said, “Thank you all for your business and support since 1991. We hope to see all of you again at least once before the restaurant closes for good… Please take this opportunity to experience our food and cocktails one last time and use any gift cards you may have.”
The Golden Dynasty in Franklin Lakes is temporarily closed, according to the company’s website.
