Haworth Police Make Marijuana Arrests

Passenger arrested on marijuana charge 

HAWORTH, N.J.—On Oct. 1 at about 9:43 a.m., Officer Andrew Soltes reported conducting a motor vehicle stop on Hardenburgh Avenue.

Investigation revealed a 45-year-old male passenger from Bergenfield was in possession of marijuana, and had an active arrest warrant originating from Teaneck. 

The man was arrested and transported to Haworth Police Headquarters for processing. The defendant was subsequently issued a complaint-summons charging him with possession of marijuana, 50 grams or less. The defendant was fingerprinted, photographed and released on his own recognizance. The driver was issued one motor vehicle summons.

New Hampshire teen had marijuana

On Oct. 11 at about 11 p.m., Sgt. Gianluca Ragone reported conducting a motor vehicle stop on Massachusetts Avenue and Stratford Road, Dumont with a vehicle bearing a New Hampshire registration. 

Investigation revealed a 19-year-old male passenger from Merrimack, New Hampshire was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. 

The teen was placed under arrest and transported to Haworth Police Headquarters for processing, where he was issued a complaint-summons charging him with possession of marijuana, 50 grams or less and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

The defendant was fingerprinted, photographed and released on his own recognizance. The driver was issued two  motor vehicle summonses.

Juvenile involved in car crash had marijuana 

On Oct. 13 at about 10 p.m., Lt. Michael Saudino and Sgt. Gianluca Ragone were dispatched to the area of Schraalenburgh Road and Massachusetts Avenue on a report of a motor vehicle crash.  

Investigation revealed a 17-year-old male from Dumont was in possession of marijuana. 

The juvenile—who had been in one of the cars—was placed into protective custody and transported to Haworth Police Headquarters for processing. The juvenile male was subsequently released to a guardian; charges pending subject to review by the Juvenile Bureau. The driver was issued one motor vehicle summons.

Closter man had marijuana

On Oct. 15, at 2:54 p.m., Officer Anthony Butler reported conducting a motor vehicle stop on Maple Street with a vehicle bearing a New Jersey registration.  

Investigation revealed the 30-year-old male driver from Closter was in possession of marijuana. He was placed under arrest and transported to Haworth Police Headquarters for processing.  The defendant was subsequently issued a complaint-summons charging him with possession of marijuana, 50 grams or less.  The defendant was fingerprinted, photographed and released on his own recognizance. The driver was issued four motor vehicle summonses.
