WESTWOOD, N.J. — The Westwood Recreation Department has postponed this week’s Summer Concert Series performance by The Counterfeiters due to the extreme heat advisory.

The show, originally scheduled for July 2, has been moved to Tuesday, July 28, at 8 p.m. There will be no concert this week.

The series resumes Thursday, July 9, with Danny V’s 52nd Street Band, a Billy Joel tribute led by pianist, singer and showman Dan Vechesky. The band features top New York metro-area musicians and has toured nationally for more than 20 years.

Here’s Elton returns Thursday, July 16, with Russ Davis performing Elton John’s biggest hits, complete with costumes, sunglasses and a full supporting band.

Tramps Like Us closes the regular Thursday lineup on July 25, bringing its Bruce Springsteen tribute show to the bandstand.

The rescheduled Counterfeiters concert on Tuesday, July 28, will feature ’90s party rock, alternative rock and grunge, with songs by Oasis, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Smash Mouth, No Doubt, Lit, Third Eye Blind and others.

All shows begin at 8 p.m. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets and to support Westwood eateries when packing picnic baskets. The free concerts are wheelchair accessible.

This year’s Summer Concert Series is sponsored by First Westwood Realty, Visions Federal Credit Union, Hackensack Meridian Health Pascack Valley Medical Center, Lightbridge Academy and Valley Bank.
