The Immaculate Conception Council 9021, established in 1985, serves the Catholic parishes in Old Tappan, Haworth, Norwood, River Vale, and Northvale, and consists of 150 members. The Wurstfest dinner is one of several fundraisers held throughout the year, including a Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day Dinner, Shield Awards Dinner, Lenten Fish Fry, and Pasta Dinner. All proceeds benefit local parishes, community initiatives, and charitable projects, as well as support for men and women pursuing religious vocations and assistance for Ukrainian Knights through Knights of Columbus Charities. Over the past decade, these events have raised approximately $300,000 for worthy causes.

In 2024, the council’s charitable activities include supporting the Food for Families program, making donations to local parishes, aiding those affected by Alzheimer’s disease, and conducting religious events to support “culture of life” causes, such as their annual baby bottle drive, which raises funds for women’s pregnancy crisis centers.

The Knights of Columbus is a 142-year-old Catholic fraternal and service organization with over 2 million members worldwide. In 2023, the Knights donated over $150 million to charity and contributed more than 50 million service hours. Key global initiatives in 2024 include support for the Special Olympics, aid for persecuted Christians in the Middle East, participation in Habitat for Humanity, the Coats for Kids program, and the Global Wheelchair Mission.
