EMERSON, N.J.—Attention anyone traveling in and around the borough: Lincoln Boulevard will be closed from Grand to Kinderkamack the week of July 10–17 for railroad track replacement.
According to Mayor Danielle DiPaola, the Borough is informed by New Jersey Transit and the New Jersey Department of Transportation that the railroad crossing at Lincoln Boulevard will be replaced starting on Wednesday, July 10.
Work will take approximately one week, weather permitting, including Sunday.
Traffic will be rerouted with clearly marked detour signs from Lincoln Boulevard to Grand Boulevard to Ackerman Avenue to Kinderkamack Road for the length of the project.
Trains will continue to run during the project but with modifications: Buses will transport train passengers between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily.
On Facebook, a resident joked with DiPaola, “Can they make Linwood two-way during that time?”
Her honor replied: “Sorry to inform you, no.”
Another resident posted, “Bummer. At least it’s during the summer.”
