DEMAREST — The Demarest Public Library is hosting “Loving the Little Things,” an exhibition of mixed-media works by Alysha Camacho-Maldonado, on view throughout October.

Camacho-Maldonado, 26, is a self-taught Latina artist based in New Jersey whose work explores themes of love, diversity, representation, nature, beauty, and joy. She holds a BFA in Theater, Design, and Dance and works in both theatrical productions and nonprofit schools, using the arts to connect with students of all ages.

In her artist statement, Camacho-Maldonado writes that “Loving the Little Things” invites viewers to pause and appreciate life’s often-overlooked details — “the joy of movement, the beauty of humanity, and nature’s artistic balance.” The exhibition, featuring an autumnal color palette inspired by the season, reflects her belief that art can help people slow down and notice what’s meaningful.
