NORWOOD, N.J.—A Hackensack man has been jailed after Norwood Police received information that he “engaged in inappropriate, nonconsensual sexual activities with multiple individuals in Norwood,” Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo said.
Lavert Conway, 25, was arrested Thursday, April 11, following an investigation that began April 7, Calo said.
Conway—who is single, and unemployed—was arrested April 11 and charged with second-degree sexual assault and three counts of fourth degree criminal sexual contact, Calo said. A detention hearing was scheduled for April 17 at 9 a.m., he said.
“Acting Prosecutor Calo states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would also like to thank the Norwood Police Department for its assistance in this investigation,” the BCPO said in a statement.
