WOODCLIFF LAKE—Meals on Wheels North Jersey is calling on community members to help deliver meals to homebound seniors, as demand for their services continues to rise. For more than 50 years, the organization has been a vital resource, providing nutritious meals to older residents who are unable to shop or cook for themselves.
“As the demand for our services grows, so does our need for compassionate and capable volunteers,” said Executive Director Janelle Larghi. “We need volunteers who can spare about an hour each month to deliver meals to our clients. The need is especially high in Mahwah and Oakland.”
In addition to meal delivery, Meals on Wheels North Jersey offers a variety of volunteer roles, including accounting, legal work, grant writing, and fundraising. Anyone interested in volunteering is encouraged to visit the organization’s website at mealsonwheelsnorthjersey.org/volunteer to learn more about available opportunities.
Larghi emphasized the impact volunteers can have on the lives of local seniors. “It’s more than just delivering meals; it’s about providing human connection and support to those who need it most.”
With an increasing number of seniors relying on Meals on Wheels North Jersey, the organization hopes to expand its team of volunteers and continue serving as a lifeline for the community’s most vulnerable residents.
