Music in the Park: Fishcakes and Fried Daddies in Old Tappan this Wednesday

Dancing the night away in Old Tappan's Oakes Park.

In the mood for eclectic good-time music ranging from Fats Waller and Cab Calloway to Johnny Cash, the Beatles, and Led Zeppelin, with a little country, Big Easy, roadhouse blues, and  other odds and ends? We know we are.

Catch Fishcakes and the Fried Daddies in concert at the Old Tappan Music Fest on Wednesday, Aug. 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakes Park, opposite 184 Central Ave.

The band consists of Billy Jones on fiddle, mandolin, piano, and harmonica; John Farrell on rhythm guitar and tenor banjo; Vito Ardito on bass; Bob Batch on lead guitar; and Vito Barbara on percussion.

Old Tappan’s Wednesday night concerts take place in the borough’s volunteer fire department in the event of rain. The concerts will conclude on Aug. 16 with No Discipline, New Jersey ambassadors of reggae and the music of the Caribbean for more than three decades.
