DEMAREST, N.J.— The Demarest Free Public Library is hosting an exhibition of photographic works by Ariana Gavriilidis throughout June. Titled Nature in Color in the US, the show features a selection of images captured on film and digital formats, highlighting the vivid landscapes and seasonal moments discovered in Gavriilidis’ travels.
One such image, “New Jersey December Sunset” (2021, 11×14), will be among the works on display.
Based in New Jersey, Gavriilidis has exhibited across the region, including at the Edward Hopper House in Nyack, Laurelwood Arboretum in Wayne, and several Hudson Valley and North Jersey coffeehouses. Her process includes working with 35mm film, iPhone photography, and a digital Nikon camera, depending on the subject and context.
She also works professionally in post-production for television and documentary projects, and helps produce digital content for local businesses and online creators.
In recognition of Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, Gavriilidis is donating proceeds from all photo sales in June to Hilarity for Charity (HFC), a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families impacted by Alzheimer’s and advancing awareness, prevention, and care—with a signature blend of advocacy and humor.
“Through our signature celebrity events, HFC also raises much-needed awareness about this disease,” she notes in her artist statement.
