OLD TAPPAN
Man arrested—again—for stalking, cyberharassment – In October 2017, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit initiated an investigation that revealed Daniel Pfeiffer—28, of Old Tappan—posted nude and sexually explicit photos of a woman he was acquainted with on the Internet.

Northern Valley Press previously reported that Pfeiffer was arrested in two related incidents involving sexually explicit photos allegedly posted without consent on Dec. 14, 2015, and June 10, 2016.

TENAFLY
Suspect captured after chase that led to officer’s injury – Police caught the second suspect in an alleged fraudulent check cashing incident that saw one officer injured after crashing into a utility pole while attempting to stop a fleeing vehicle, Tenafly police said in a statement.

With the help of police in Peekskill, N.Y., Tenafly police identified and arrested Jamie Smalls, 21, of Peekskill, who they say drove the fleeing car in a Nov. 20 chase.

Smalls was arrested Nov. 22 and is charged with eluding a law enforcement officer; he was briefly jailed before being released on Nov. 24.

During the initial response on Nov. 20, Tenafly police responded to a report of an individual attempting to pass a fraudulent check at the Chase Bank on County Road at Central Avenue.

Responding officers observed a black BMW sport utility vehicle with New York license plates idling across the street from the bank.

“Two detectives entered the bank looking for the suspect, while patrol officers approached the vehicle to investigate. As officers approached the car on foot, it quickly accelerated from the scene heading north on Piermont Road,” according to a statement from the Tenafly Police Department.

While pursuing the vehicle, the patrol car crashed; the involved officer was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and released a short time later.

Tenafly detectives arrested one suspect, Jai’iris D. Crawford, 18, from Englewood, inside the Chase Bank for attempting to pass a fraudulent check. Crawford was charged with attempted theft, passing a fraudulent check, and possession of a fraudulent credit card.

“This is still an active investigation and additional charges may be filed. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Tenafly Police Department detective bureau at (201) 568-5100,” the department said in a statement.
