Northvale Man Charged with DWI

NORWOOD, N.J.—On Jan. 10, just before 11:30 p.m., a Norwood Patrolman stopped a vehicle that was heading south on Livingston Street after observing the car swerve over the white fog line and then swerve in the opposite direction over the double yellow line.
While speaking with the driver, a 58-year-old man from Northvale, the officer was able to detect the odor of an alcoholic beverage. The motorist was asked to perform several field sobriety tests which he failed. He was placed under arrest and transported to Norwood Police Department headquarters, where he recorded a 0.16 percent blood alcohol content.
The defendant was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain lane and careless driving.
