Obit: Martha R. D’Amico


Martha Rosetta D’Amico (nee Borghi), 95, of Closter, died on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. Daughter of Rosetta and Amos Borghi, she was raised in Old Tappan and was a Closter resident for 72 years. She was a World War II Marine Corps Veteran. She was the owner of D’Amico’s of Closter and active in the Closter Woman’s Club for over 30 years. During that time, she collected and distributed the food and toys for holidays.

She was predeceased by her husband, Dominick, her twin sister Rosetta Lowry and brother Arthur. She is survived by her children Anna, Martha and her husband Robert Kuhnert, John, Thomas and his wife Patsy, Joseph and his wife Dawn, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, sisters Helen Zihalla and Henrietta Meyers. Burial at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Tenafly. Donations to Closter Volunteer Ambulance Corps in her name would be appreciated.
