OBIT: Sheldon M. Liebowitz

Sheldon M. Liebowitz, of Englewood, died Wednesday, July 18, 2018, peacefully at home of natural causes. He was born Oct. 24, 1926, in Jersey City. He grew up in Englewood, where he lived his entire life.
After serving in the Pacific during World War II in the Army, he received his law degree at John Marshall Law School and began his career as an attorney. He served as Municipal Judge in Englewood from 1963 to 1968. He was passionate about gardening and an avid golfer. He and his long-time companion Kay Ritta lived together in Englewood since 1976, and they were both actively involved in the community.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father and brother. He is survived by his sister-in-law Maarilyn Liebowitz, nephew Allan, niece Sharon, and his two stepsons Kurt and Clete Ritta.
