OBITUARY: Jean Cacciola Pelegri (Mazzola) of Hillsdale

Jean Cacciola Pelegri (Mazzola), age 92 of Hillsdale, N.J., passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 4, 2019.

Born Josephine Jean Mazzola in Fort Lee, N.J., she was the beloved wife of the late Alfred Cacciola. She is predeceased by her second husband, Rafael Pelegrí, and her loving brother John Mazzola.

Jean is survived by her sister Stefani Ramberg, Sister-in-law Teresa Mazzola, five children – Marie Spinelli (Steve), Marguerite Newpower (Don), Linda Noonan (Tom), Alfred Cacciola, Lorraine Palovick (Wayne), nine grandchildren – Christine Cooke, Nancy Macleod (Pat), Thomas Noonan (Kathy), Genevieve Macleod, Mark Spinelli (Nicole), Shaun Noonan (Emily), Matthew Newpower (Nicole), Sara Palovick, Nicole Perez (Matt), and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Jean was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed by all.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, Jan. 8 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, N.J.

The family will have a celebration of Jean’s life on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, N.J.

In lieu of flowers, those who desire may make a gift in her memory to the Immune Deficiency Foundation and the Global Lyme Alliance.
