OLD TAPPAN, N.J. — The Old Tappan Volunteer Fire Department responded to an unusual call on Saturday, May 31, when a resident reported ducklings trapped in a storm drain.
After a focused effort, department members successfully rescued the ducklings and reunited them with their mother, who had remained at the scene, driven by instinct.

“Protecting life and property is our mission—and sometimes that includes the smallest lives among us,” said members of the department.
