TENAFLY, N.J.—On Nov. 14, 15 and 16, the Tenafly High School Performing Arts theater department presents “Clue.” Based on the cult classic 1985 film that was inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, the play is a hilarious madcap farce-meets-murder mystery.
The plot of “Clue” unfolds on a dark and stormy night in a remote mansion where six mysterious guests, all of whom have aliases, assemble for a bizarre dinner party given by an anonymous host—and murder is on the menu.
The cook wields large cleaver, the butler offers the guests a variety of weapons, and the host is, well—dead.
So whodunnit?
The production is directed by Samuel Ahn-Cooper, with technical direction by Steve Moger and music by Jim Millar.
The play stars Sam Vukic, Molly Egleston, Anya Kasubhai, Omer Raz, Ziv Zaifman, Alize Abdelhak, John Buergler, Jaden Salmon, Tal Strauss-Kirshner, Alexandra Osterwalder, Sabrina Li and Rayea Jain.
“It has been an incredible process directing these 12 amazing students in this production. We are so used to doing intense, dramatic pieces, that it is a refreshing break to tackle a comedy. Comedy is the hardest genre to pull off because you do not want the characters to be cartoon caricatures but rather real people played honestly and truthfully,” said Ahn-Cooper. “This cast has adapted, grown and taken a wonderful journey as a family.”
