PARK RIDGE, N.J. — The borough has eased mandatory outdoor watering restrictions after cooler temperatures, recent rainfall and conservation efforts helped restore municipal water storage tanks to normal operating levels.
Beginning Thursday, July 23, lawn irrigation is permitted on a limited schedule based on location:
Residents west of the Garden State Parkway may water Mondays and Thursdays. Customers between the Parkway and Pascack Road, including both sides of Pascack Road, may water Tuesdays and Fridays. Residents east of Pascack Road may water Wednesdays and Saturdays.
No lawn watering is permitted Sundays.
The Park Ridge Board of Public Utilities said the three-zone schedule was developed using hydraulic modeling to reduce peak demand and help keep water storage tanks at safe operating levels, particularly during hot weather.
The board will continue monitoring water use, weather conditions and system performance. Restrictions may be revised if conditions change.
