PARK RIDGE, N.J.—Police cited two brothers found doing donuts in their pickup trucks at the upper lot of the Sony campus the night of May 1.
Tipped off by an anonymous caller, police responded to the area and found two dark pickup trucks involved. As officers approached, three occupants from one truck fled to the wooded area adjacent to Clairmont Drive in Woodcliff Lake.
The officers requested Woodcliff Lake police check in that area for those folks.
Near the other truck, the officers report, they observed three other occupants hurrying to get inside the vehicle, which turned out to be driven by a Chestnut Ridge, N.Y. man, 23.
The other driver was the man’s brother. Police had the first man call his brother on his cell phone and have him return to the scene.
“All parties came back to my location. I spoke to both drivers about the complaint, at which time they admitted that they were doing donuts and filming it,” the reporting officer said.
He added, “I could smell the odor of burnt rubber from the tires. Observed in the parking lot were numerous burnouts from doing donuts.”
Both drivers were issued summonses for reckless driving and failure to exhibit a valid insurance card. The summonses are answerable at Pascack Joint Municipal Court on June 12.
