Pascack Valley Mayors: Coronavirus in Many Local Towns

The Pascack Valley Mayors Association wrote an open letter to the community urging us all to heed warnings about Coronavirus and calls to social distance.

Dear Residents of the Pascack Valley:

We write today to assure you of the support you are receiving from the 10 Mayors, Borough Administrators and Offices of Emergency Management of the Pascack Valley during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During these uncertain, unprecedented times it takes more than a village— in our case, it takes a region, and we want you to know that we have met and will continue to meet regularly to share best practices and policies to keep you, the residents of our communities, as safe as we possibly can under the circumstances.

Please check your local government websites, official social media accounts and official emails for updates, sign up for emergency notification systems (i.e. Nixle, SwiftReach, etc.) and urge your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Many of the 10 towns in the Pascack Valley have received confirmation of one or more positive cases within their boundaries. As we all know, certain sectors of our communities are particularly vulnerable to this virus because of their age, underlying conditions or both.

We are taking every action to protect and inform these vulnerable populations and we urge our healthy residents to be mindful of the potential cost of the virus’ spread.

We are in this together, and we need you to heed the recommendations of the CDC and practice “social distancing.” Together, we can and will slow the spread of this pandemic.

We will continue to update you as new information becomes available.

Be Well,

Keith J. Misciagna, Mayor Park Ridge, 2020 President
