TOWNSHIP OF WASHINGTON—Derek Kaine, a local student and a Boy Scout with Troop 321, is working toward earning his Eagle Scout rank by leading a project that will benefit the community: building a community garden behind Bethany Community Center.
Derek is hosting a community pasta dinner on Sunday, Oct. 13 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus, 79 Pascack Road.
“This garden will be a place for everyone in Washington Township to come together,” Derek tells Pascack Press. “It’s important for me to contribute something lasting and beneficial to the town.”
The pasta dinner is open to the public, with tickets priced at $15 per person and $10 for children under 10 and seniors 65 and over. All proceeds will go toward covering the costs of building the garden, which will include garden beds, fencing, and other essential materials.
The event will feature a family-friendly atmosphere, delicious food, and an opportunity for residents to learn more about this ambitious project. For ticket information, reach out to Derek at derekkaineeagle@gmail.com.
