MONTVALE — The Planning Board on Tuesday, Dec. 2, will hear a variance application for the Chestnut Ridge Shopping Center — the site tied to Mayor Michael Ghassali’s recent announcement that Trader Joe’s and several fast-casual eateries are being proposed for the property.
UB Chestnut LLC, owner of the 1–30 Chestnut Ridge Road center, is scheduled for a public hearing on variance requests. Ghassali has said the proposal calls for Trader Joe’s to take over The Fresh Market space and for Shake Shack, CAVA, and Honeygrow to be built on a new pad site near Drop Fitness. The full application has not yet been released; we have requested these public records.
The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Municipal Complex, 12 DePiero Drive. By board policy, no new matters begin after 10:30 p.m., and the meeting ends at 11:15 p.m.
In addition to the Chestnut Ridge application, the Planning Board will take up:
