POLICE BLOTTER: Hiding Drugs in Pile of Clothes… Doesn’t Work

WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J.—A Park Ridge man, 21, was charged with an improper turn, possession of controlled dangerous substances in a motor vehicle, possession of controlled dangerous substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia on the morning of June 11 following a traffic stop and probable cause search

According to the police report, the defendant was seen making an improper right turn off the parkway exit. He was stopped on Glen Road in the area of Birchwood Drive.

Police said there was a strong odor of marijuana that the defendant proposed originated two to three days prior. He said he had no contraband to turn over.

A search found alleged narcotics and paraphernalia in a hooded sweatshirt in the back, beneath soiled clothing. Reported discovered were a vape pen with oils and hashish cartridges. 

The driver stated he’d attempted to hide this material from officers.

He was arrested and processed, and given a date at  Pascack Joint Municipal Court. He was given a verbal warning for failure to exhibit a valid registration card.
