Police Seek Leads in Late-Night Dunkin’ Armed Robberies

PARAMUS, N.J.—Police seek leads after the same masked gunman robbed two Dunkin’ stores 10 miles apart—one in Ramsey and the other in Paramus—in a pre-dawn spree Wednesday.

In the first robbery, around 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 4, the robber demanded staff hand over cash from the registers and tried to have them open the safe at the Dunkin’ on northbound Route 17 in Ramsey, police said.

Within minutes the robber entered the Paramus Dunkin’, also on Route 17, brandished a handgun, and demanded money from the cash register, according to Paramus Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg.

Authorities said the crook made off with approximately $60 from the Ramsey store. There was no word on how much was taken from the Paramus site.

According to a press release, Paramus police and a Bergen County Sheriff’s K9 unit searched the area.

Employees at both stores described the robber as Asian, in his 20s, standing 5 feet 6 inches  with a thin build and wearing dark pants, a black hooded sweatshirt with a white design, a ski mask, and sunglasses.
