RIVER VALE—This July, the River Vale Farmer’s Market is celebrating “Make A Difference” month, aiming at an additional way to serve the community. As part of this initiative, organizers are excited to host an on-site blood drive on July 25 from 1 to 5:30 p.m. A Vitalant BloodMobile will be conveniently stationed at the market to facilitate easy blood donations.
Many of the market’s cherished vendors are contributing special treats for generous donors. When you donate blood, you’ll receive a punch card for the following complimentary items, redeemable on July 25:
- A pickle-on-a-stick from PickleLicious.
- A slice of pizza from Angelo’s Finest Pizza.
- A discount on a small Italian ice from Clyde’s Ice Cream.
- A Whoopie pie from Cousin’s Maine Lobster.
Additionally, if you register for your donation ahead of time using this link, using Group Code XFMRV, you’ll receive a voucher for a free empanada from The Empanada Lady, redeemable any time this market season
Why Donate? Donating blood just once can help save up to three lives. Your contribution can make a significant difference in our community.
Eligibility Basics:
- Must be at least 16 years old (16 & 17-year-olds require parental consent).
- Must be in good health and feel well.
- Must weigh at least 110 pounds.
- Can donate every 56 days.
For more detailed eligibility information, visit vitalant.org. A screening process at the beginning of your donation will ensure you meet the criteria. Even if you are not eligible to donate, your effort and intention are greatly appreciated.
Power Red Donations: For those interested in making an even greater impact, there are opportunities to donate “Power Red,” a process that collects a double supply of red blood cells while returning your plasma and platelets to you. More information about this can be found on the Vitalant website.
Get Involved: Vitalant is always looking for organizations to host blood drives, whether at indoor facilities or via a BloodMobile.
