River Vale man charged with sexual assault offenses

HACKENSACK—Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 20-year-old Julian A. Morris of River Vale on charges of aggravated sexual assault and sexual assault. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Deputy Chief Jeff Angermeyer, and the River Vale Police Department, under the direction of Chief Christopher Bulger.

On Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026, the River Vale Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an alleged sexual assault. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the River Vale Police Department revealed that Morris sexually assaulted an incapacitated female victim in River Vale during the early morning hours of Jan. 1, 2026.

As a result of the investigation, on Thursday, Jan. 8 Morris was arrested in River Vale and charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2a(7)(a); and second-degree sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(1). Morris was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack.
