Plate check turns up suspension and $750 warrant
An officer conducting random license plate checks on May 14 at 5:20 p.m. turned up a hit on a suspended driver’s license. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Piermont Avenue near Cedar Lane.
A further computer check revealed that the driver, 21, from Jefferson, N.Y., had an outstanding warrant for $750 from the Palisades Interstate Parkway.
A backup officer arrived. The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters. He posted the requisite bail and was released.
Pays warrant of $450 and gets two summonses
An officer conducting random license plate checks on May 18 at 9:25 a.m. turned up a hit for an expired vehicle registration. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Old Tappan Road near Rivervale Road.
A further computer check revealed that the driver, 36, from Irvington, had an outstanding warrant from Newark for $450.
A backup officer arrived and the defendant was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters. There, he posted the requisite bail and was issued motor vehicle summonses for unregistered vehicle and unlicensed driver.
He was released pending an appearance in the River Vale Municipal Court on June 4.
Tinted windows call out driver on $100 warrant
An officer on patrol May 20 at 3 p.m. observed a vehicle traveling on Rivervale Road with tinted windows.
The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Rivervale Road near Old Tappan Road. Further computer check revealed that the driver, 31, from Harrington Park, had an outstanding warrant for $100 from that jurisdiction.
A backup officer arrived and the defendant was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters.
There, he posted the requisite bail and was issued a motor vehicle summons for safety glass requirement and released pending an appearance in the River Vale Municipal Court on June 4.
