RIVER VALE—The River Vale Farmers Market hosts a special Thanksgiving-themed market this Tuesday (not Thursday), Nov. 26 from noon to 4 p.m. in the Town Hall parking lot. Although this is the final market of the season, organizers are promising an exciting event for local shoppers, making it the perfect opportunity to pick up fresh, locally grown or produced items for your Thanksgiving dinner.
While Hope Cress Farms has sold out of fresh, farm-raised turkeys, they will still offer other essential Thanksgiving ingredients like butternut squash, potatoes, yams, zucchini, onions, garlic, lettuce, cranberries, and more. Orlando’s Famous Bakery will also be serving up freshly baked breads, pies, hummus, and soups – perfect for holiday feasts. Don’t miss their walnut cranberry bread, which you can freeze ahead of time for Thursday’s meal.
For dessert, Clyde’s Homemade Ices & Ice Cream will be selling beautiful homemade chocolate cornucopias, making for a sweet gift for Thanksgiving hosts. PickleLicious will bring a variety of appetizers, including pickles, sun-dried tomatoes, roasted garlic, olives, and more, ideal for creating an impressive crudité platter. The Empanada Lady will be on hand, offering delicious empanadas, including a special Thanksgiving variety featuring stuffing.
Phenix Knife Sharpening will also be present, offering on-site knife sharpening services so you can ensure your knives are ready for turkey carving.
